Alpine ski all-rounder Remme moves from Canada to Germany

New face in the German alpine skiing women: Roni Remme will drive for Germany in the future.

The German alpine women get a podium-experienced reinforcement. Born in Canada, Roni Remme will start for the German Ski Association in the future. “I feel honored and very excited to drive for Germany”explained the 26-year-old Remme on Instagram.

A World Championship, two Olympics, a World Cup podium

All-rounder Remme has competed in 65 World Cup races in her career so far, participated in the 2018 and 2022 Olympics and the 2019 World Ski Championships. Her best finish was second at the Alpine Combined World Cup in February 2019. Remme, whose grandmother is German, also finished in the top 10 three more times in the World Cup.

The change of nation was applied for at the world association FIS in May 2022. The newcomer to the German Ski Association has only now become public through Remme’s Instagram post on October 12, 2022.

Lena Dürr takes second place in the last slalom of the season and thus secures third place in the discipline ranking. The day’s victory went to the Slovenian Andreja Slokar.
