US clothing retailer Alpha Industries Inc. has given Matthew Pantoja additional responsibilities. On Tuesday, the company announced that its marketing chief had been promoted to the newly created position of chief brand officer, effective immediately. In this role, Pantoja is now responsible for “the products, marketing and brand experiences across all categories, regions and channels,” Alpha Industries said in a statement. He will work closely with the creative, product development and merchandising departments and will continue to report directly to CEO Michael Cirker.
Pantoja joined Alpha Industries in 2016, where he held various leadership roles in e-commerce, sales and brand & business development, as well as the position of VP Marketing. Previously, he held key positions in the marketing departments of well-known labels such as Reebok and New Era.
“Matt is an exceptional marketer who has helped our sixty-year-old company evolve in the age of branding and culture,” said CEO Cirker in a statement. “Matt has assumed increasing leadership responsibilities at Alpha and has demonstrated strong strategic expertise and leadership skills. We now recognize Matt’s excellence in many aspects of Alpha Industries’ organization in his new role as Chief Brand Officer.”
