Alpha Industries collaborates with Schirn Kunsthalle

Alpha Industries has released a collection in collaboration with the Schirn Kunsthalle.

The US brand’s capsule is dedicated to the Frankfurt museum’s latest exhibition, Alpha Industries announced on Thursday. Under the title ‘The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century’, exhibits lead through the history of hip-hop and address its diverse manifestations.

Part of the accompanying capsule collection is the brand’s black ‘MA-1’ bomber jacket, which features gold ‘The Culture’ lettering on the back and chest. Two versions of a black T-shirt with a contrasting red print reflecting the collaboration complete the capsule.

The exhibition, which originates from the US museums Baltimore Museum of Art and Saint Louis Art Museum, shows a collection of more than 70 works of art that provide a stage for international artists and pioneers of hip-hop. ‘The Culture’ is divided into six sections covering language, hip-hop in fashion, cultural influences, models and social change in culture. The exhibition was designed by Matthias Ulrich.

“The cooperation between Alpha Industries and the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt underlines our shared interest in innovative art and contemporary culture,” said Matthias Schuebbe, Alpha Industries Brand Director for Europe. “We believe that hip-hop is not just a musical movement, but also represents a significant cultural force that influences fashion, art and society as a whole.”

The parts of the ‘Alpha Industries x Schirn Kunsthalle’ can be purchased in the Kunsthalle museum shop and in the Alpha Industries online shop. The price of the T-shirts is 35 euros and the bomber jacket is 200 euros. The exhibition can be seen from February 29th to May 26th.
