Tom has been hiding in a nuclear bunker in Amsterdam for seven years. His only companion is a cockroach. Tom (Barry Emond) is hiding from the nuclear war going on outside. If the food supply runs out, he has to go outside. There he finds a new world. He seems to be the only survivor. The fictional podcast After the end of the world is an impressive radio play, full of dark music, mysterious sound effects and constructive tension. Strange creatures cross Tom’s path, plants show him the way. Don’t think too much about this podcast – composer Sietse Damen and writer Luuk Imhann of the NOX collective rightly call it an ‘audio film’. Just close your eyes and let yourself be carried away.
