Most Drenths who have experienced the liberation live in Emmen, almost 8,000. Of all people who were already adults during the liberation, 117 live in Emmen. In percentage terms, Westerveld stands out. About 9.7 percent of all inhabitants experienced the liberation, which amounts to almost 2,000 inhabitants.
Last year, the number of Drenthe who experienced the liberation was still about 41,000.
