A screenshot is currently circulating online, which has been picked up by various sites – and supposedly shows AC/DC’s tour dates for 2024 (“Metal Hammer” reported first).
First, “oe24.at” and the “Westfälische Nachrichten” reported on concert dates that a man named Marco Meierhöfer is said to have published on his YouTube channel. This post can no longer be found. If the dates were right, the Australian hard rock legends would appear eleven times this spring in Germany, twice in Austria and once in Slovakia.
Regardless of whether this data is nonsense or correct: the timing would at least make sense. The last appearance in Germany by Brian Johnson, Angus Young and Co. would be on June 12th in the Munich Olympic Stadium – two days before the opening game of the European Football Championship in Munich, which will not be played in the city’s Olympic Stadium, but in the Allianz Arena FC Bayern Munich takes place.

As the “Southgerman newspaperAccording to their own information from the Munich town hall in November 2023, the band is said to have booked the Olympic Stadium on June 12, 2024. The plan was actually to be a pop star Ed Sheeran to initiate the start of the European Football Championship. But the request to the Olympiapark company came too late: the hard rock band had already booked June 12th, the daily newspaper quotes.
The Süddeutsche Zeitung writes: “Euro 2024 organizers are said to have originally had the Olympic Stadium in mind for their cultural opening ceremony. The Olympic Park Society confirms such a request. But according to the city’s draft resolution, the organizers of the opening ceremony did not manage to make the binding commitment in time. That’s why there will most likely be a concert spectacle in Munich at the opening of Euro 2024: Ed Sheeran will play on the Theresienwiese and the Olympic Stadium AC/DC booked for the day. This concert has not yet been officially confirmed, but the town hall is expecting this duo to take place on June 12th.”
AC/DC last toured in 2016.
