Allegations by 13 women against Depardieu

Acting star Gérard Depardieu (74) has to face serious allegations of sexual harassment again. 13 women are now expressing themselves in harsh words about the French cinema icon, also accusing him of violence!

This emerges from a report published on Tuesday by the French online portal “Médiapart”.

Dépardieu, who has been under investigation since 2020 on suspicion of rape, is said to have molested women last year.

Specifically, it says: In the years 2004 to 2022 he is said to have sexually touched the women or verbally molested them “during the shooting of eleven films or series” or afterwards.

According to the article, the attacks varied in severity. Examples of the film star’s alleged misconduct are included:

The women report “a hand in their panties, in their crotch, on their buttocks or breasts”, of “obscene remarks or sometimes intrusive grunts”.

Those who complained were therefore always dismissed with the same sentence: “Never mind, it’s Gérard”. Some witnesses of the incidents also have their say in the article.

Of the 13 women cited by “Médiapart”, none has so far filed a complaint. However, three of them made their statements available to the judiciary, including an extra from the film “Big House” by Jean-Emmanuel Godart (2015). Godart sent her statement in March “to help Charlotte Arnould”.

The young actress and dancer Charlotte Arnould accuses Depardieu of raping her twice in his Paris apartment in 2018 at the age of 22. The French judiciary has therefore been investigating him since December 2020.

As in the Arnould case, Depardieu rejects the new allegations. He “formally denies all allegations that may fall under criminal law,” his law firm told the magazine.

The Paris public prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday when asked by AFP that she had “not received any new complaints until today”. The investigation initiated as a result of Arnould’s complaint will continue.

Depardieu is one of the most famous actors in French cinema, known for his roles as Obelix, Cyrano de Bergerac and Count of Monte Cristo, among others.
