On July 15th, 16th and 18th, Rammstein will play three concerts in Berlin as part of their current stadium tour. Due to the previous events related to the Rammstein and Till Lindemann cause, it can be assumed that the concerts in the Berlin Olympic Stadium will be accompanied by strong protests and demonstrations.
Due to the expected protests in front of the concert area, Olympic Stadium increased its safety precautions for the Rammstein performances. For example, it is intended to prevent unauthorized objects from entering the premises.
For safety reasons, it is forbidden to bring glass bottles, cans, hard packaging or other objects that can be used as projectiles, such as deodorant, perfumes, umbrellas, etc. onto the site. These items will therefore be confiscated upon entry into the stadium. The same applies to luggage that is too large.
The ban applies to bags and rucksacks whose largest side is larger than the “DIN A4” format (21.0 x 29.7 cm). In order to minimize waiting times at the entrance, all concert visitors are asked to generally refrain from taking bags with them. There is no possibility to hand in the bags on site.
The following items are prohibited:
- Large bags such as backpacks, shopper bags, holdalls, suitcases, baskets and cooler bags
- professional cameras with interchangeable and/or zoom lenses and video function
- Audio and video recording devices of all kinds
- lighting and video equipment
- action cameras
- Selfie sticks
- electronic devices such as tablets, laptops, large power banks other than full-size power banks, mobile phones and e-cigarettes
- Food and beverages (both available at the stadium), with the exception of non-alcoholic beverages in a beverage carton or PET bottle with a maximum volume of 0.5 l
- chairs, stools, folding chairs
- Weapons, knives, tasers, batons, pepper spray, etc.
- glass container
- Flashlights, key & wallet chains, glow sticks, laser pointers
- large flags and posters (incl. sticks)
- helmets
- Umbrellas (except pocket umbrellas)
Furthermore, there will be so-called “Awareness Buddies” on the three evenings in the Olympic Stadium. These are employees who should act as contact persons for problems in the Olympic Stadium. The team members belong to the group “Inclusion must be loud”.
In a petition, an attempt was made in advance to ban Rammstein’s performances in Berlin. Despite numerous criticism and protest actions, which advocated a ban on the band, the performances will take place in the Olympic Stadium in the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Even with an attack on Rammstein’s Berlin office, there were threats that the processes in the Olympic Park would be significantly disrupted. All concerts are sold out.
Young people under the age of 16 may only take part in the concert if they are accompanied by a person who has custody or a person responsible for education. For this purpose, the educational assignment (according to §1 Para.1 No. 4 Youth Protection Act) must be filled out completely and carried with you at the concert. Children under the age of six are not admitted.
