Since Russia invaded Ukraine last week, aid campaigns have been launched from all over the world for the displaced residents. Countless initiatives are also being launched in our province and we are making a massive contribution. These special actions stand out.
Wedding photographer has already raised 10,000 euros
Perhaps the most obvious resource is money. That’s what wedding photographer thought too sasha from Bladel. The Ukrainian-born aired her heart on Instagram last week and came up with an action: people could have photos taken with her in exchange for a donation. That call was heeded en masse. The counter has now passed 10,000 euros and the amounts are still pouring in.
Of course you can also give money via Giro 555 ‘Together in action for Ukraine’.
Ride in a tank
They will soon also try to raise as much money as possible at the War Museum in Overloon. They will do so on 14 and 15 May during Militracks, the largest event in the field of German vehicles from the Second World War. For a extra amount visitors can normally ride in the tanks for a while.
The museum doubted whether the event would be appropriate at the moment, but has now found a solution: the money raised by allowing people to ride in a tank will go entirely to Ukraine.
Trucker in the breach for stranded colleagues
While their compatriots try to find a safe place to stay, many Ukrainian truck drivers are stranded in the Netherlands. Trucker Robin Delsink from Roosendaal took action to support them. He collects as much money as possible online to at least provide his powerless colleagues with food and drink. Robin has already raised more than 1,400 euros.
save the animals
Not only people in Ukraine are currently in danger, many animals also have no place to go. As a result, many farmers and breeders currently have no choice but to remain in the war zone.
To put a heart to them, you can Prinsenbeek and Eindhoven provide useful resources. Think of food, but also medication and stuff for the birth of puppies. If you don’t have that material, then a money donation also more than welcome.
Carnival suit for sale
Wilbert van den Broek from Cuijk is also happy to contribute. In a remarkable way: he put on his homemade carnival outfit marketplace† In recent days he has been wearing a self-test suit through the pubs in Brabant, but now that the party is over, his creation has a new purpose. Wilbert donates the entire proceeds to the Red Cross. The counter is now at 50 euros.
Collection of goods
Besides money, there is also a great need for everyday products. Certainly the Ukrainians who have fled headlong to Poland can use a lot of stuff. Think of clothing, sleeping bags and blankets, but also diapers, toothbrushes and candles.
These resources are currently being fully collected in many places in Brabant. For example in Wouwse Plantage, where the doors of the village hall (Dorpshuis de Spil, Plantagebaan 223) are open all day on Thursday. But the organization Europeans United also wants to bring things to Poland as quickly as possible. And earlier this week we already saw how a similar action by transport company De Rooy from Son yielded an enormous profit.
