- Another 32 participants get their World Cup tickets via wild cards in qualifying tournaments, the so-called World Championship International Qualifiers.

When and where will the Darts World Cup 2024 take place?
- As usual, the Darts World Championship will take place at the turn of the year. The 31st edition of the World Championship tournament, hosted by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), begins on Friday, December 15, 2023.
- With the exception of Christmas (December 24th to 26th) and New Year’s Eve, there are matches to be seen every day until the final on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024.
- For the 17th time, the venue for the Darts World Cup is Alexandra Palace in London, also known as “Ally Pally”.
Darts World Cup 2024: Defending champion and record holder
- The Englishman Michael Smith won the Darts World Cup 2023 after a 7:4 win against Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands. It was the first World Cup title ever for the 33-year-old, who is also known by the nickname “Bully Boy”. Smith was runner-up in the world championship in 2019 and 2022.
- The record world champion is the Englishman Phil Taylor with 14 World Cup victories, which he won from 1995 to 2002, from 2004 to 2006 and in 2009, 2010 and 2013.
- The “German Giant” Gabriel Clemens became the first German ever to reach the World Cup semi-finals in 2023.
How much is the prize money at the Darts World Cup 2024?
- A total of 2.5 million pounds will be distributed at the 31st edition of the Darts World Cup.
- The world champion receives 500,000 pounds, the finalist can console himself with 200,000 pounds.
- The totals have therefore remained unchanged compared to the 2023 World Cup.
