All artificial grass fields must be free of plastic granules by 2031: will this cause a financial hangover for football clubs in Flanders? | Domestic

Rubber granules, often from crushed car tires, may no longer be used from 2032 to make an artificial grass football field softer and more flexible. The European Commission is thus combating microplastics, tiny plastic particles that end up in nature. Hundreds of Flemish football clubs are kicking a ball on artificial grass: will they have to install a new mat costing 500,000 euros or is there another way?
