Alive 24h: Drunk driving drove on: serious injuries, boyfriend died

A 19-year-old living in Haapavesi Veera was about to continue home. However, a year and a half ago, the plans suddenly went new. Veera and her parents tell what happened Alive 24h series.

Veeran Jenniaccording to the mother, a suicidal drunk driver drove over a car driven by Veera and thus killed herself. A boyfriend who was on a ride with Veera as well Ilmari died. Veera’s own prediction was not good either.

– They didn’t give any hope, Tero recalls.

– There was no chance of survival until the next day, Jenni adds.

Veera broke several bones in the accident. His hips were crushed and injuries came to both the head and spine. Despite the desperate situation, Veera survived the next day, and the next. He fought for himself in the books of the living.

Now Veera is sitting in a wheelchair. He has a brain injury and the left side of his body is paralyzed.

– I’m fine right now. There is no pain. I feel much better than last year, Veera tells the cameras.

Parents are proud of their daughter’s rehabilitation.

– That’s where he’s going to go. Every day comes something new and different, what he is hooking and what he is capable of. They are not the biggest things in the world, but even small things become a big creek, Jenni’s mother compares.
