The anniversary special edition was limited to 150 copies and has already been completely sold out.
Shortly after JAR OF FLIES celebrated its 30th birthday Alice In Chains released a very special vinyl to celebrate the anniversary of their mini album. To match the title, they released 150 limited, transparent records with real, dead flies incorporated into them.

The price per copy at launch was the equivalent of around 92 euros – the insect editions are now completely sold out. The implementation of these bizarre vinyls was made possible by “Romanus Custom Vinyl”, a company that specializes in exactly such projects. They recently filled a record with maggots for Pat & The Pissers and liquid-filled EPs are also their specialty.
On the custom order for Alice In Chains They definitely seem to be very proud and write on theirs Instagram-Page: “We are excited to announce that we are making these bizarre beauties for @aliceinchains in collaboration with the good folks at @velvethammermgmt. Filled with REAL dead flies. It was actually quite difficult to get real dead flies. Absolutely iconic band, album & more. Video and more behind-the-scenes content to come! It’s an honor to do this.”
Next to the record have Alice In Chains also released a limited edition 30th anniversary box set of their EP. This contains a logo-embossed jar with a touch-activated red LED light with artificial flies, a 3D lenticular poster, a tri-color vinyl of JAR OF FLIES, a 60-page hardcover book, a poster – packaged in a screen-printed, UV-coated shadow box. The box set is also currently sold out.
A skateboard deck and an individual poker set were also released for the anniversary, both of which are currently still available website the volume is available.
