Alice and Peterthe plot of the movie

A woman tells her three children the story of three brothers. They are Alice, David and Peter Littleton. They live with their parents Jack (David Oyelowo) and Rose (Angelina Jolie) in a house in the suburbs of London. Alice (Keira Chansa) often clashes with Peter (Jordan Nash). They have two different characters: she is immature, he plays at being wild, convinced that he is the master of the woods around there. David (Reece Yates), on the other hand, is the more calm and dedicated to studying.

Both are in love with their brother, who in turn takes care of them and is always present. For Alice and Peter the first impact with reality comes when their aunt Eleanor (Anna Chancellor) offers her help in providing for David’s school education. He will soon be leaving home and they will have to deal with his absence.

Unfortunately, bad luck arrives sooner than expected and, one day, while playing fighting with pirates in the middle of a storm, David falls into the river. Lightning strikes him and he dies.

It’s a hard blow for the family and everyone reacts differently. Jack takes refuge in gambling, while Rose spends her days obsessively making a green felt hat. The gift she wanted to give David for his birthday. At this point, Eleanor decides to focus on Alice, in the hope of teaching her good manners and making her accepted into society. She is no easy feat, however, as the daughter of a mixed couple.

Neverland and Wonderland

Money is tight in the Littleton house and the time comes when Alice and Peter leave for London to sell a silver pocket watch. The journey turns into a real adventure and through the streets of London they meet some guys who have just pickpocketed a criminal.

After that they run into the Mad Hatter (Clarke Peters)an exuberant merchant who introduces them to a loan shark, Captain Hook (David Gyasi). They don’t know that he is actually their uncle. So they find the street kids just before, nicknamed the Lost Boys. The name comes from the place where they have been and which only they know exists: Neverland.

As they continue their journey, they come into contact with their father’s dark past. To defend him, they turn against Captain Hook and ask the Lost Boys for help to rob him of some gold coins. Things don’t go as planned and Peter is forced to flee.

Alice and Peterthe ending of the film

But first, he returns home, takes the green hat that his mother sewed for his brother and leaves for Neverland. Alice watches Peter go away in a boat driven by a fairy disguised as a brass bell.

Subsequently the brother will return from time to time to bring stolen coins and thus help the family. Alice, however, chooses to immerse herself in Wonderland to exorcise her pain.

The film ends with the mother’s confession. Alice is her. One evening, while returning home with her husband, she hears the music of a song she sang with her brothers when she was a child. He enters the children’s room and there is no trace of them. The windows, however, are open and he notices an eagle feather on the floor.

The same feather that brother David had found before he died and that her mother Eleanor had sewn onto the green hat. A sign that his brother Peter was there and took his nephews to Neverland.
