The major Ali B trial will start in June 2024, almost exactly ten years after he made his first alleged sex victim: Ellen ten Damme. “That was in 2014 in Morocco.”
It has taken a very long time, but it is now finally clear when the big trial against Ali B will start: on June 12 and 13, 2024, it reports TO. It was already clear that he would be prosecuted, also in the case of Ellen ten Damme, but not for what exactly. In Ellen’s case, it concerns rape in 2014 during TV recordings in Morocco.
Three facts
The suspicion against Ali involves a total of three different facts: rape (August 2018 in Heiloo), sexual assault (May 2018 in Amsterdam) and rape (April 2014 in Morocco). The suspicion of sexual assault is related to the horror talent show The Voice of Holland, so the rape in Morocco concerns Ellen ten Damme.
Ellen did not report the incident, but did make a statement to the police. “To support those people who have already told their story. It doesn’t benefit me at all from doing that. But in the context of the public interest, I think I have to do something,” she said last year.
Across the border
Yvonne Coldeweijer was the first to come forward with this rape story last year, even before Ellen told her story. “So it appears that he went to her room there at night and crossed the border there. So this was reported and nothing was done about it,” she said at the time.
Yvonne herself had known for years that something happened during the recording of Ali B and the Music Caravan in 2014. “What I heard during that time is that unpleasant things happened between her and Ali B. Things that she did not want. This was reported to the production house at the time and of course they completely covered it up. I already knew that at the time.”
Ali denies
Ali denies all accusations, including Ellen’s. “What was a cheerful, innocent flirt has now been made ugly and twisted eight years later. It is incomprehensible because in the years after 2014 we sent each other sweet messages and saw each other occasionally,” he said earlier. “I really don’t understand it.”
During the recording of the same program in Morocco, Ali also seems to have shared a bed with Iris Hond, but for a change that would have been voluntary.
