On the way to the away game
A bus carrying professionals from the first division club MC El Bayadh had an accident in Algeria. As the Algerian Football Association FAF and the club announced on Thursday night, goalkeeper Zakaria Bouziani and assistant coach Khaled Meftah died in the accident.
Eight other people were injured, according to rescue workers. The club said four players were seriously injured. The club published pictures of the crashed bus as well as of players and team members from the hospital on Facebook.
The association canceled all football games across the country for the coming weekend. The club from El Bayadh was on their way to an away game on the eleventh matchday of Ligue Professionnelle 1 at JS Kabylie.
