Alfa Women: an Argentine series that empowers women

“Alpha women” is based on a fictionalized version of the conversations of Sole Castro Virasoro and her real life friends: Maru, Laura and Flor. Far from the frivolities of “Sex and the City”” and its sequels, in the dialogues of the Latin series, the script revolves around the observation and parody of everyday events, from where situations are created that reach the ridiculous, thanks to the eccentricities of the protagonists. In the web series Argentine-Spanish film, released in November, empowers women and, to a certain extent, rivals the content of “Alpha males”the Iberian strip of the platform Netflix.

During the series, Sole’s psychologist will secretly begin to draw vignettes accompanied by phrases that are the essence of his patient. In fiction, those images are a success and the protagonist begins to wonder if someone is stealing her ideas. The curious thing is that, in reality, the viewers and followers of the brand ““Alpha Women” They can purchase licensed products with those same images that appear in the web content.

Almost on the verge of being anecdotal, this YouTube series is currently a brand and, furthermore, a transmedia content, which plays to erase the boundary between reality and fiction, with products that exist both on and off the screen, and that form a world where everything is possible. The seed of this independent production germinated when Virasoro was selected for the contest Women Entrepreneurs of FECOBA and CAME and was granted Patronage for the production of the web series Alpha Women. In 2016, the producer and screenwriter was a finalist for the Incubator developed by city ​​government with this same proposal and finalist of the contest “Get closer” of the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires in the stand up category.

Sole Castro Virasoro’s artistic path expanded in different shows stand up for almost 10 years, including Spain, where he currently resides. In 2023, she won a scholarship to Harvard Business School Publishing awarded by Santander Scholarships and studied scriptwriting with Juan José Campanella and Aída Bortnikto later specialize in dramaturgy with Mauricio Kartun.
