Alexander Stubb, 55, to victory in the Ironman race in Lahti

The former prime minister of Finland, Alexander Stubb, 55, has won his age group’s Ironman triathlon competition in Lahti.

Stubb competed in the 55-59 age men’s category. His overall time was 4:35.50. He was second in the age group Guido Kohlwho was a couple of seconds behind Stubb in the overall time.

Stubb was sixth in his age group after the swimming section, but rose to the top after the 90 km cycling section. He was the fifth fastest in the running section, but finished the race the fastest in his age group.

Among other things, the politician won the long triathlon European championship last year. At that time, he won gold in the men’s 50-54 category.
