The American Alexander Rossi celebrated his first win of the season in the IndyCar series.
On Saturday, the 30-year-old from the Andretti Autosport team won at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of the Dane Christian Lundgaard (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing), who was on the podium for the first time. Will Power (Team Penske) of Australia finished third. Rossi last won an IndyCar race more than three years ago.
Four races before the end of the season, Power took the lead again in the overall World Championship standings.
Former Formula 1 driver Marcus Ericsson had to give up the top position after a disappointing eleventh place. With 422 points, he is now eight points behind the Australian (430).
