Alexa Concierge: how it works and where it is

cWhat key do I call the hotel reception on? 9 or zero? Where did I put the Wi-Fi password slip? No more frantic searches! Starting this summer, in certain hotels it will be enough to say: “Alexa, bring me a spritz” and receive the order without even having left the terrace of our hotel room. This is the idea behind Alexa Concierge Smart Properties for Hospitality.

“Alexa? Bring me another towel.”

The beginning of a revolution in hotels, which sees theAlexa Artificial Intelligence made available to hotel guests on holidaydestined to become ever more numerous. Alexa Concierge thanks to the simple voice command from every corner of the room, allows you to play music, order the room service, call reception or check out. But it also helps the guest to orient himself in the new place of vacation or work, suggesting events or places of interest nearby. A solution that helps hotel managers and their customers alike.

Alexa goes to the hotel

Those who are already familiar with voice assistants will have no problem getting used to Alexa Concierge, which in addition to helping us with our requests for assistance, in certain structures will also be able to manage the entire hotel room, for example adjusting lights, radiators or curtains to our voice command. In addition to doing even the simplest things, the ones we are at home with, such as play music or set an alarm.

«Alexa, tell me the wi-fi password»

Connecting to the hotel’s Wi-Fi is perhaps the first thing we do when we enter our room. And how much time do we always waste to recover it? With this concierge it will be enough to say “Alexa, can you give me the password?”, we won’t even have to bother picking up the telephone receiver, because in a few seconds we will be connected again.

If we have forgotten our toothpaste and toothbrush, just let Alexa Concierge know and in a few minutes someone will be knocking on our door with everything you need. This obviously also applies to towels, blankets, additional pillows and everything that could be used in the room. It is also possible to ask the device for quick things of organization and needs, such as for example the location of the spa, the gyms or the breakfast room.

The use of Alexa in the room remains clearly optional, and for those who don’t like interacting with voice assistants, it is always possible to turn off the device, in fact the speakers Alexa Concierge are equipped with a mute button. And you also don’t need to link your account to the device.

It’s fun to understand, through Alexa, the differences in requests between Italian and foreign guests. Most requests in Italian are about check-out times, the restaurant (and God forbid) and room cleaning. Requests in English, on the other hand, see the Wi-Fi password and information on places to see in the surrounding area in first place.
