Since this Monday, February 5, a large cloud of smoke began to cover the hills in the southern area of the Rio Negro city and mid-morning, the sky of Bariloche. From the Undersecretariat of Protection reported that the low visibility in that Patagonian territory is due to the presence of smoke resulting from a fire that affects the Los Alerces National Park.
However, the mayor of Nahuel Huapi National Park reported that the forest fire affects the southern part of the region, more precisely in Brazo Tristeza, and that the wind brought the smoke from the fire, implying that the incendiary focus is not located in Los Alerces.
Confirmation that there is a forest fire in the area of Arm Sadness, alarmed the authorities given the difficulty of access to that entire sector of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. The mayor of the Nahuel Huapi National Park announced that resources are being deployed and the situation is being evaluated.
For extreme safety reasons, the trail is closed Laguna Ilon y los Césares, 5 lagoons, the Llao Llao municipal park and the path to the refuge of Cerro López. Lake excursions to that area are temporarily suspended and the circuit to Thunderer remains conditional for operational and security reasons.
