Aleksi Lepäll received the World Cup silver from the World Cup free rifle competition

Finland has received three World Cup medals from Egypt.

Finnish shooter Aleksi Leppä, 28, has won silver at the World Championships held in Cairo. Leppä competed in the 300-meter free rifle position competition, where 3×20 shots are fired.

Leppä shot a total of 590 points (194 from kneeling, 200 lying down and 196 standing). He lost by only two points to France, who won the championship For Emilien Chassat. Hungary took the bronze Istvan Peni with a difference of one point to the Finn.

Leppä took part in the team competition later Sebastian Långström and Juho Aution with. There, Finland finished fourth, barely out of the medals.

– In free rifle I shot as well as I could today. It was really good to do, and I was very happy with the World Cup silver! The winner just shot better, so hats off. The team race also went well for me. So overall a good day, Leppä told the Finnish Shooting Association in the bulletin.

Finland has now won three medals from the World Championships in Cairo. The rifle girls took the WC bronze and Alexandra Rosenlew got World Cup silver in the girls’ miniature rifle position competition.
