Aleksanteri Kivimäki is accused of more than 30,000 crimes

Kivimäki is still imprisoned.

The prosecutor demands that Aleksanteri Tomminpoika Kivimäki be punished for the crimes. The prosecutor has today filed charges against Kivimäki for aggravated data breach, attempted aggravated data breach, 9598 aggravated dissemination of information infringing private life, 21316 aggravated blackmail attempt and 20 aggravated blackmail.

The more detailed content of the indictment will be made public later today. The court hearing of the case begins on November 13. The processing will last for months and will end according to the current schedule in February 2024. Kivimäki is still imprisoned.

The defendant, formerly known as Julius Kivimäki, is suspected of a data breach targeting the Psychotherapy Center Vastaamo. The police suspect that Kivimäki blackmailed patients by threatening them with the publication of confidential patient information. Patient information was also leaked online. In total, there are more than 21,000 interested parties, i.e. victims.

The district court will inform the interested parties personally about the matter and its handling in letters sent during this week. At the same time, the district court reserves the opportunity for interested parties to present their claims based on the crime against the defendant in writing.

The police have been investigating the matter since September 2020. Kivimäki was arrested in France in February 2023.

– 21,316 for attempted extortion and

– 20 for aggravated extortion
