Aleksander Barkov bought an apartment from Patrik Laine’s neighbor.
A lot of apartments have been built in Ranta-Tampella in Tampere in recent years, and the area seems to be popular with top hockey players.
According to Iltalehti’s investigation, he advanced all the way to the NHL finals with the Florida Panthers last season Alexander Barkov27, has bought a handsome apartment in the area in the summer of 2022.
Barkov bought a triangle with a sauna in a house completed in 2020, which has 96 square meters and a view of Lake Näsijärvi from the glazed balcony. The purchase price is not known, but based on the building company’s notification history, in 2019, 586,100–7,024,00 euros have been asked for apartments of the same size.
Barkov hasn’t set out to be exactly a coastal town, because significantly more expensive and larger apartments have also been built in the same building and area.

A giant deal
Barkov has not had to stretch his finances to the limit with a mortgage, as the superstar who made the effort from Tampere signed an eight-year, $80 million contract with the Florida Panthers at the end of 2021.
Last season was the first of that contract and brought Barkov no less than 12 million dollars gross. The contract is priority-based, so to speak, meaning the annual salary decreases as the contract progresses.
An interesting detail in the hockey star’s Tampere apartment is that Barkov’s mother Olga Barkova owns the apartment next door. The two-room apartment with sauna next door to Poika-Barkov has been transferred to Olga Barkova six months after Aleksander got his own.
The apartment from the same building company, but from a different crab, is also owned by the Lions’ Olympic champion and World Cup gold medalist Sami Vatanen investment company.
Also Patrik Lainea is an apartment in Ranta-Tampella, right next door to Barkov.
Light taxation
Aleksander Barkov has other options for where to live in the summer, because he also owns a handsome summer house on Kangasa island.
Kangasala’s vacation home has room to play around, because Barkov’s plot is more than half a hectare in size. Based on the public aerial view of the property, there is even a tennis court next to the main building.
According to the Capfriendly website, Barkov has already earned more than 50 million dollars in gross NHL wages to date, i.e. almost 46 million euros at the current exchange rate.
In terms of taxation for NHL players, the Panthers are an ideal employer, as taxation in Florida is lighter than in many other US states.
