Alec Baldwin’s charges have changed.

Baldwin charged with involuntary manslaughter after the gun he was using accidentally killed a cameraman on the set of Rust Halyna Hutchins.

Prosecutors initially sought a conviction under the new law, which didn’t take effect until after the shooting. According to the new law, Baldwin could have received a five-year sentence, but since the case is being handled according to the law in force at the time of the incident, Baldwin can receive a maximum of 18 months in prison.

The prosecutor agreed to the request of Baldwin’s lawyers.
