Aldi’s new distribution center in Westpoort Groningen is officially open. Director Simon Plümer performed the opening act on Friday. The new complex replaces the old one in Drachten and is above all a lot more sustainable.
Some facts: The distribution center has an area of 37,763 square meters, is 100 percent gas-free, is lit by LED and has no fewer than 5,554 solar panels on the roof.
