Aldi gift card trick – continue to use DAZN at the old price

Saving tip

Streaming service DAZN doubled its prices in February. Thanks to a clever trick with gift cards, sports fans can avoid the price increase. However, you should be quick.

The news hit sports fans like a bomb! Streaming service DAZN, which now also holds extensive Bundesliga rights, is increasing its prices massively. Since February, new customers have been paying EUR 29.99 per month instead of the previous EUR 14.99. Existing customers will be spared until the end of July. After that, they too have to pay the higher price if they want to continue to have access to the offer. In addition to many Bundesliga games, this also includes the Champions League and numerous US sports leagues such as NBA, UFC, NFL and NHL.

If you act with foresight, you can use a trick to secure the old price for a long time.

No DAZN price increase thanks to Aldi gift cards

In addition to paying by credit card, users can alternatively buy so-called prepaid cards, which many may also know as gift cards. You typically encounter these in the checkout areas of electronics stores or discounters. They are available for Netflix, PlayStation Plus and also for DAZN. You pay the price on the card at the checkout and in return you receive a code that you can redeem for one or more months with the streaming service.

Discounter Aldi apparently secured a larger contingent of DAZN gift cards for EUR 14.99 each before the price increase and is now advertising them. And not only that: there are also three-month cards for 49.99 euros. For DAZN users, this is a very good opportunity to watch at a reduced price for a long time. Because Aldi announces that the cards are valid for three years. In this respect, one could theoretically stock up on tickets for this period in advance.
