The name for the new construction project in Drouwenermond is known: Hogen Esch Streekje. This was announced by councilor Henk Zwiep of Borger-Odoorn. The name was submitted by a resident after a competition. It refers to the former owner of the area, Mr HogenEsch.
Eight semi-detached houses and twelve detached houses will be built in the Hogen Esch Streekje. The councilor thinks the name is appropriate: “The present and the past come together again in this way.”
The start of this project took some time. The plans for the homes have been in place since 2010. Due to the financial crisis it all had to wait, but now it can start. “This is a beautiful moment that we would like to reflect on in an appropriate manner on Monday. It marks the step we are now taking towards filling this site with new-build homes,” Zwiep said.
The lots can be purchased from December 5. In the meantime, the land is being prepared for construction. The new owners are expected to start construction at the end of March.
