Alcohol control for BOB campaign: 13 drivers break alcohol law
Yesterday night between 5 pm and 5 am, the Polder police zone held an alcohol check in Kortemark on the Staatsbaan, in Houthulst on the Iepersteenweg and in Diksmuide on the Oostendestraat. A total of 384 vehicles were checked, of which 13 drivers were found to be in violation of the alcohol law regarding driving under the influence.
Eight drivers had to pay an immediate collection of 186.06 € and their driving license was withheld for 3 hours. Two drivers received a police report. They will receive an amicable settlement proposal. Their driver’s license was withheld for 6 hours†
Two other drivers had their licenses immediately revoked for 15 days and they will have to answer to the police judge. A driver refused the breath test and the blood test, this driver’s license was also immediately revoked for 15 days. This driver will also have to answer to the police court.
The Polder police zone decides that the summer BOB campaign is not an unnecessary luxury and that a minority of drivers still do not realize that drinking and driving do not mix.
