Carlos Alcaraz, Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreno, Alejandro Davidovich Y Marcel Granollers will form the Spanish National Team that will play the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals by Rakuten 2022 in Valencia, from September 13 to 18, reported the Spanish Tennis Federation.
Captain, Sergio Brugueraannounced this Monday the team that will face Serbia, Canada and South Korea in search of one of the two places that will give access to the phase for the title that will be played in Malaga from November 21 to 27, already in the format of direct elimination from the quarterfinals.
Spain will debut against Serbia on Wednesday, September 14, starting at 4:00 p.m., and will play their second tie against Canada on Friday, September 16. Participation will close on Sunday, September 18, against South Korea, always at the same time.
This group stage, which will be played at the Fuente de San Luis Pavilion on a hard court, will be opened by Canada and South Korea on Tuesday, September 13.
Group A will be played in Bologna with Croatia, Italy, Argentina and Sweden. Group C will be decided in Hamburg with France, Germany, Belgium and Australia. And Group D will be played in Glasgow with the United States, Great Britain, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
The first two classified from each venue will access the Final 8 in Malaga. In case of qualifying as first in the group, Spain would play the quarterfinals against the second-placed team from Group A. If it is second in the group, it would play against the winner of Group C, the federative statement specifies.
