This week it’s all about the new records from The Eels, Tara Nome Doyle and Tocotronic.
On the 14th album by Eels EXTREME WITCHCRAFT, the band returns to rock. Co-written and recorded by lead singer Mark “E” Everett and John Parish, the record is bursting with energy.
On her new album, the Irish-Norwegian musician Tara Nome Doyle celebrates all creatures that are wrongly called “vermin”: The songs on the record are therefore named after leeches, spiders, caterpillars, mosquitoes or crows.
NIE DER WRIEG sounds neither like an old nor like a new album by Tocotronic, but like a dear, soft-focus memory of listening to Tocotronic. The group pulls off their old tricks – but with the poise and wisdom of a band that sees its own history as a treasure trove rather than a burden.
Would you like to listen to the new albums by The Eels, Tara Nome Doyle and Tocotronic? No problem!
