Albert Verlinde silenced by Erland and Wendy after cult insult

Albert Verlinde has not heard anything from Erland Galjaard or Wendy van Dijk after his heavy sect insult against them. “Did they really not say anything? You are kidding me!”

RTL has a relatively positive image nowadays, especially if you compare it with John de Mol’s Talpa, but there was a time when the flag was very different. The media company behind RTL 4 and Videoland had an extremely sour image, because Erland Galjaard and Wendy van Dijk played the imperial couple there and they could not deal with criticism at all.

The Errie Sect

The two of them, Erland and Wendy, worked at RTL. That was nice if you were good friends with them – Thijs Römer got a nice director’s job – but if you didn’t really like this pair, then you had to leave. For example, Erland personally ensured that Albert was removed from RTL Boulevard.

It was really a cult at RTL 4 in their years, Albert Verlinde confirmed last month at the table in Today Inside. That is an image that was already prevalent in the media at the time, but it was never really confirmed by a prominent person like Albert. Now that Erland and Wendy no longer play any significant role in the media world, he dares to do so.

Nothing heard

Wilfred Genee talks to Albert about it in a new episode In The Walkways. “Last time you talked about the RTL cult. Did you have many reactions to that?”

Albert hasn’t heard from Er and Wen. “Nothing.”

Wilfred: “You don’t mean that.”

Albert: “No, seriously.”

‘It was intense’

Wilfred: “Huh? Wendy, Erland, Thijs Römer? That was quite intense.”

Albert: “No, nothing. But it’s not like I really said that there were Thijs Römer scenes that happened there. I was talking about the environment. That was it.”

Wilfred: “No, but you said you didn’t feel good about it. You were happy that you were done and you could leave.”

Albert: “It was a complicated time. Yes, but everyone in a company has that experience at some point when you think: that wasn’t for him. And that was then.”

‘Really not nice’

Wilfred: “I was still thinking about it, because you were still one of the big stars at the time. Then it’s strange that they treated you like that.”

Albert: “Yes, that wasn’t fun either.”

Wilfred: “And what is it like now when you meet those people? Erland, Wendy?”

Albert: “Well, after that I met them again and I also worked with Erland and so on. But that just wasn’t a pleasant time. Just no.”

Through a door

Finally, Wilfred: “But now you can go through the same door with everyone?”

Albert: “I learned: the profession is so small, you always meet each other again, so just tell someone to the face what you thought about what happened and then move on. There’s no point in dragging all kinds of things around.’
