Albert Verlinde receives a whole series of verbal caning from Marc-Marie Huijbregts. The comedian is furious about a number of things that the musical bobo has said in Op1. “He is crazy!”
the Netherlands is dropped sharply in the international ranking for compliance with children’s rights, namely from fourth place to twenty place. It was briefly touched upon last Monday On 1where D66 MP Romke de Jong was skeptical: “I can hardly imagine it in one of the richest countries in the world.”
Albert skeptical
Host Jort Kelder also reacted a bit sceptically. “The strange thing is that UNICEF published a report a few years ago that Dutch children have the highest well-being in the world. I can’t reconcile that.”
And table guest Albert Verlinde shared the distrust. He said: “I don’t know with an investigation like that either… I may have become suspicious in life, but sometimes I think: don’t these investigations have a political agenda too, you know? That I think: it may sometimes also want to steer the conversation in a certain direction for interest groups.”
‘Get up then!’
As a council member of the municipality of Vught, Albert also notices that things are actually going better in our country than we think. “You also see that if you as a municipality initiate things to support people, the money is often not collected. That is very strange, so you make money available and…”
He continues: “We had an emergency fund of one million for people who didn’t manage with their energy and didn’t get a job! That is very strange, so it is either shame or the story is smaller than we think.”
Jort: “That could just be.”
“You’re CRAZY, Albert!”
It now appears that Marc-Marie Huijbregts is quite pissed off about these statements. He says in the latest episode of his Podimo podcast: “Romke de Jong finds that all very bad, but then I think: yes, you are from D66. For example, you brought youth care to the municipalities, which was not a good idea at all.”
He continues: “Then Albert Verlinde arrives and he will also say (raise his squeaky voice even higher, ed.): ‘Yes, I do think that the research may have been politically driven.’ Like it’s not that bad at all or isn’t that big of a deal. Then I think: then you are crazy.”
Childish and evil
Marc-Marie gets tired of Albert. “He says: ‘For example, a million has been made available in Vught, but no one is coming to collect that money.’ Yes, that is probably because you don’t have good communication with your citizens, otherwise they would come. Or that people give up.”
He continues: “If you have to fill out hundreds of thousands of forms because you need Pampers for your child, you give up. I think it’s so childish and so bad. That no one at the table says that. All men again.”
Very annoying
Albert’s entire performance was irritating, says Marc-Marie. He was there to promote some Sisi musical. “Albert comes there because he is going to bring that musical back. Then I think: can someone just stop advertising for a while and just come somewhere for something? But apparently that is very difficult for him and other people.”
Marc-Marie himself refuses to go to Op1. “I have never been to Op1. I’m not going to Op1. I actually only go to Jinek and Beau, because I really like both of them. I’m nowhere else for the rest. Everyone always says: ‘Marc-Marie is everywhere’, but I am nowhere. Only there.”
