Albert Verlinde is allowed to return in VI, but: ‘Rachel Hazes argument weak’

Albert Verlinde may return to the table at Today Inside, but Johan Derksen thinks that he has overdone Rachel Hazes on his debut. “That was a weak point.”

The debut of Albert Verlinde at the table at Today Inside has generally pleased the viewer, but he has seriously blundered by standing up for Rachel Hazes. The professional widow has seriously misbehaved towards Rob Goossens, but that was more or less justified by Albert.

Albert knows Rachel

You can guess the reason: Albert has a personal relationship with Rachel and together they released a new version of the Hazes musical He Believes In Me in 2020. He was then the boss of musical giant Stage. “I am very nice to be in regular contact with Rachel Hazes about this musical,” he said at the time on television.

In other words: favoritism. Nevertheless, Albert is allowed to return to VI. “Yes, dude, of course. Yes, fine, dude. Good guy though. Of course”, says René van der Gijp in the broadcast From yesterday.

Weak point

Johan Derksen is also open to Albert returning. He is, however, critical of his Rachel slime. “You shouldn’t go too fast, but I think we should give him a second chance. One weak point in his argument was that whole story about Mrs. Hazes. I don’t know if he has a relationship with those people.”

Wilfred: “I read somewhere, but I don’t know if that’s true, that there ever was a Hazes musical. That was set up by Joop van den Ende of course, but later he merged with Joop van den Ende. I don’t know if that was a commercial interest.”

Bit busy

What does Roxane Knetemann think of Albert’s performance in VI? “I thought he clicked super well, but I found him busy and I was so very happy that René occasionally put his feet back on the earth.”

René: “He was indeed… But it was the first time, wasn’t it? For us, it’s like sitting at the kitchen table for fifteen years. But if someone is just coming for the first time…”

Not that strong

Media journalist Mark Koster is critical of Albert’s performance. He says in the podcast The Juice Show: “I didn’t think Albert Verlinde was very strong, because he stood up for Rachel completely. I think that’s the disadvantage of Albert Verlinde. Albert Verlinde also always has something colorful sometimes. If he’s in a camp, he’s in it.”

Co-host Yvonne Coldeweijer, who was enthusiastic about Albert’s debut, says: “Of course I have that a bit with Gordon, as in: if you know someone personally… And Albert texted that woman all day yesterday… That can’t make that now for his feeling to then…”

Mark: “But I think that’s crazy about showbiz journalism.”

Yvonne: “You don’t really want that. You shouldn’t know them, that’s for the best.”

Wrong camp

It is obvious that Albert is fat with Rachel, according to Mark. “I think that is the disadvantage of Albert Verlinde, he is sometimes in a camp.”

Yvonne: “Yes, we are always in a camp. He was just alone in the wrong camp. haha. Yes, he was going to stand up for Rachel. Van: gosh, you just have to imagine, he says, that you have to protect such a heritage.”

Mark: “A heritage must protect? Like a museum director. Albert Verlinde, fine, but one has leg, been. It was fun in those years.”

Yvonne: “Well, one legend for me, but I understand… Yes, I understand the interference, of indeed that you know the celebrity… I sometimes run into that now too.”
