Albert Verlinde calls the arch-enemies of Carlo Boszhard nice ‘tastemakers’: “Yes, Yvonne does shake things up.” Oops, he probably won’t be thanked by his TV colleague…
Carlo Boszhard has hated Dennis Schouten, Jan Roos and Yvonne Coldeweijer ever since they accused him of transgressive behaviour. Yet the juice channels are becoming more and more commonplace. Where the traditional show media used to look at it with suspicion, they too can no longer ignore it: juice channels here to stay†
Albert praises Yvonne
In the distant past, Albert Verlinde was the only juice channel in the Netherlands: night after night it was Albert who brought all the hot news to RTL Boulevard. But those times are now far behind us. Nowadays he only makes the news when he throws a well-known colleague (read: Humberto Tan) in front of the bus on a bad evening.
If Albert in the Weekend when asked who he thinks are nice newcomers to the profession, he answers: “I really like what Yvonne Coldeweijer does, she shakes things up every now and then and that never hurts.”

They are the trendsetters of our time, says Albert. “Henk van der Meijden was from the newspaper, I was going to do that on television, and then someone else will come and do the same with socials. I also like Gossip Talk by Jan Roos and Dennis Schouten. The trendsetters are actually more in that corner than on television.”
Albert who likes Dennis, Jan and Yvonne… That will not go down well with his good TV colleague Carlo. After all, it is precisely this threesome that briefly threatened to undermine his career.
Afraid of Albert
The relentless juice channels go further than Albert has ever gone before. And to think that for years Albert was the feared man in Hilversum.
At the time of Albert’s departure from Boulevard, Carlo said that he was occasionally quite shocked when his name appeared on his phone: “Then you thought oh my god… let’s go for a while. If you received a text message from him with ‘Would you like to call me?’, I sometimes wanted to call back half an hour later than the broadcast.”
