The Spanish Albert Ramos Vinolas won his fourth ATP title this Sunday by beating Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the final of the Córdoba Open in a marathon match lasting two hours and 40 minutes.

The 34-year-old left-hander born in Barcelona thus added this title to his record as a professional, which He already had three other ATP: Bastad 2016, Gstaad 2019 and Estoril 2021.

After always running from behind in the game, Albert Ramos Viñolas was able to conquer this title in Argentine lands that had been denied to the current number 44 in the world last year after losing the final against the local Juan Manuel Cerúndolo.

The Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, current 144 in the classification and 24 years old, could not crown with the title a great week that included a victory in the semifinals against the Argentine Diego Schwartzman.

After an emotional celebration with tears and a call to Barcelona from the clay court itself, Albert Ramos rehearsed some emotional words.

“First of all I would like to congratulate Alejandro for the tournament he has done. I want to thank the tournament and the organization and I am very happy to have achieved this tournament and from today Córdoba will have a very important place in my life”, he said.

“I would like to thank the public for their support today. Without you it would have been very difficult to turn the result around tonight. I want to thank my wife, my daughter, my coach who is not here, my parents and my team”, completed the Spanish tennis player, who won the fourth edition of this Argentine event.

In the previous versions of this tournament, the winners had been Juan Ignacio Londero in 2019 (after winning the final against his compatriot Guido Pella), the Chilean Christian Garín in 2020 (he beat Diego Schwartzman in the decisive duel) and Juan Manuel Cerúndolo in 2021 (after defeating Albert Ramos).
