Basketball record champion Alba Berlin has stopped table leaders Niners Chemnitz from flying high in the BBL.
The Berlin team led by world champion Johannes Thiemann won 101:90 (60:45) in their own hall on New Year’s Eve and thus ended the surprise team’s series. Chemnitz had previously only lost on the first matchday in Ulm and then celebrated twelve wins in a row.
The best thrower in Alba’s eighth win in the eleventh game, which the Berliners started with an outstanding first quarter (34:19), was Sterling Brown with 25 points, Thiemann contributed 17 points. Kevin Yebo scored 21 points for Chemnitz.
