The basketball players from Alba Berlin remain at the bottom of the Euroleague. The Bundesliga team lost to Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade 71:85 (42:51).
For Alba it was the twelfth defeat in the 14th game of the premier class. The best Berlin throwers were Louis Olinde with 13 and Johannes Thiemann with twelve points.
The Bundesliga representative initially got into the game well. The game was evenly balanced, although both teams didn’t always play with full energy on defense. There were already a few gaping holes. Alba increasingly had problems, especially under the basket. At the end of the first quarter, Red Star was able to take better advantage of this and pull away slightly.
Missed throws and weak defense
At the start of the second period the deficit had grown to nine points (22:31). The guests then came back, but towards the end of the first half they had to let the hosts go again in the cauldron of Belgrade.
Immediately after the break, Alba’s deficit grew to 17 points (42:59). The guests now missed too many throws and could no longer find solutions on defense.
