German basketball champion Alba Berlin has suffered a setback in the fight for the playoffs in the EuroLeague.
The cup winner lost on Friday evening to defending champion Anadolu Efes 77:87 (39:36). With eleven wins and 15 defeats, the capital city are two games before the end of the group stage in tenth place, only the best eight teams are in the quarter-finals.
With 20 points, Oscar da Silva was the best scorer for the Berliners, who had reckoned with chances of progressing after two wins in a row.
League competitor Bayern Munich is currently in the last playoff position with twelve wins and twelve losses. Alba still meets Panathinaikos Athens and AS Monaco.
