Alba has moved up to second place in the Bundesliga. On Monday evening, coach Israel Gonzalez’s team won confidently and clearly at BG Göttingen with 114:77 (56:39).

Alba is one of six teams that each have four wins and one defeat – but they have the better basket ratio. The best Berlin throwers were Khalifa Koumadje with 21 and Gabriele Procida with 20 points.

The game initially started quite evenly, Göttingen kept up for around six minutes and stayed with it (14:16). But then Alba turned up the heat. Göttingen hardly managed anything against the guests’ good defense and the capital city team took advantage of that. They went on a 23-0 run in the first quarter. They scored a total of 39 points in this section.

Afterwards, Göttingen put up more resistance and Alba now left a lot behind. But the Berliners were able to maintain a clear lead until the break. Due to technical problems, the game had to be interrupted for almost 30 minutes shortly before half-time.

But that didn’t throw the guests out of their rhythm. Göttingen scored better now – especially from a distance, but Alba remained confident and always had an answer. They kept the hosts at a safe distance until the end and continued to pull away.
