Alba Berlin has conceded the fourth defeat in a row in the Euroleague.

On Wednesday evening, the Bundesliga basketball club lost in front of 9098 spectators in their own hall against the French runners-up AS Monaco with a clear score of 84:102 (36:51).

This means that the German champions are back in last place in the premier class. Best Berlin throwers were Yanni Wetzell with 17 and Gabriele Procida with 16 points.

As expected, coach Israel Gonzalez was without the injured Maodo Lo and Ben Lammers. His team got off to a good start, though. In the balanced first quarter, the Berliners were almost always in the lead, but were not able to pull away by more than four points (22:18).

In the second half, the guests got into the game better, right at the beginning of the quarter the Monegasques, trained by ex-Alba coach Sasa Obradovic, were ahead for the first time. As much as Monaco turned up, Alba was now dismantling. Hardly a throw found its way into the basket of the guests. After a 2:18 run, Berlin’s deficit continued to grow at the break.

After the change of sides, the capitals tried to rear up again and were able to make the deficit just one digit (45:54). But there was only a brief glimmer of hope. At the end of the third quarter, the gap was even 22 points (51:73). Alba never recovered from that.
