Alba Berlin gives the Central German BC no chance

Alba Berlin still has its eye on first place in the basketball Bundesliga after the main round. On the 29th match day of the BBL, the Berliners clearly won the Syntainics MBC with 95:66 (52:34).

Alba moves up to fourth place in the table, but still has a few catch-up games to play and the fewest defeats in the BBL so far. The best Berlin throwers were Tim Schneider, Tamir Blatt and Yovel Zoosman with 16 points each.

Alba coach Israel González had to do without Ben Lammers and long-term absentee Marcus Eriksson.

It was a confident performance by the Berliners. Less than 48 hours after the last game in the Euroleague in Monaco, the Berliners quickly found their rhythm offensively.

Thanks to two threes, Alba pulled away to 25:17 at the end of the first quarter. Another long-range goal from Schneider brought the first two-digit lead at the beginning of the second period.

The table-16. from Weißenfels had big problems defensively against the fast and variable game of the Berliners. In addition, the guests from the capital dominated the rebound and pulled away more and more. 52:34 was the clear lead at the break.

Alba also controlled the game in the second half. Defensively, the team remained attentive and hardly allowed a simple throw. The Berliners extended their lead to 30 points and coach González was able to rest some of the regulars.

Alba shifted down a gear in the final quarter. However, there were no doubts about the well-deserved victory.
