The top German basketball teams Bayern Munich and Alba Berlin suffered setbacks in the EuroLeague.
The cup winners from Munich lost to AS Monaco 80:91 (31:46) in a duel between two teams from the middle of the table and suffered their ninth defeat in the 16th game. Alba’s record is significantly worse: The 82:91 (47:51) against Fenerbahce Istanbul was the 13th defeat.
In the BMW Park in Munich, national soccer player Mats Hummels kept his fingers crossed in vain – Bayern were behind from the start against the guests trained by former Alba coach Sasa Obradovic.
The third quarter, which went to Munich, gave hope, but the comeback fizzled out in the final section. Sylvain Francisco was FCB’s most successful thrower with 19 points.
Alba, on the other hand, started well against the top Turkish team, was initially ahead and initially kept the game open, led by the strong former NBA professional Sterling Brown (15 points). A weak third quarter, in which only twelve points were scored, dashed their hopes.
