Aku Hirviniemi says in his recent Facebook update that he is canceling his work gig this week and will be on sick leave for the rest of the week.
– This week I was at a little Christmas party, where I thoughtlessly joked about the latest news and my bad behavior. My purpose was to entertain the audience and self-ironically relieve my shame, Hirviniemi writes.
– However, I was thoughtless, and I didn’t realize that my humor offended many people involved. I apologize for my rant, my ill-advised style and my blindness to the context, he continues.
Hirviniemi adds that he did not intend to belittle the matter.
