Dortmund (AP) – According to a report in the “Bild” newspaper, defender Manuel Akanji is about to say goodbye to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. The Swiss national player rejected a second offer from second in the table to extend his contract.
The contract of the 26-year-old, who has been playing in Dortmund since January 2018, runs until the summer of next year, but BVB could still receive a fee if there is a change after this season. A possible prospect is said to be Manchester United, where Ralf Rangnick is currently interim coach and will continue to work as an adviser after this season.
Dortmund have signed national player Niklas Süle for the new season on the defensive. The central defender comes from the German record champions FC Bayern Munich.
