Ajax Women has convincingly won the opening match of the new season. Newcomer Fortuna Sittard was defeated 4-0 at home. The women of VV Alkmaar, on the other hand, were less successful tonight and lost 5-0 to FC Twente.
After twenty minutes of football, Victoria Pelova put the 1-0 on the scoreboard. After the opening goal, the game continued to muddle. There were no great opportunities and only in the second half did some spectacle return. Shortly after the break, Ajax scored the 2-0, but it was rejected due to offside. As a result, it remained 1-0.
Fifteen minutes before the end, the match was closed by an own goal from Fortuna player Moïsa van Koot. In the absolute final phase, Pelova scored the 3-0. Soraya Verhoeve determined the final score at 4-0.

Hopeless loss
VV Alkmaar had a tough time with FC Twente. The Tukkers took the lead before half time via striker Fenna Kalma: 1-0. After the break, Alkmaar was less and less able to hold on. Wieke Kaptein doubled the Enschede lead. Goals from Marit Auée, again Kalma and an own goal from Kim Smal ultimately lost the Alkmaarders their first game of the new season: 0-5.
Telstar will be in action on Sunday. They will visit ADO The Hague at 12.15 pm.
