Ajax Women remains clear, Telstar is still waiting for first points

Ajax Women also managed to win its fourth league match of the season. The Amsterdam formation won 3-1 against Excelsior. Telstar, on the other hand, lost 4-0 to sc Heerenveen. The newcomer is therefore still waiting for the first points in the Eredivisie.

Ajax started the game energetically and took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a brilliant free kick by Sherida Spits. The captain curled in from twenty meters. Less than three minutes later, Tiny Hoekstra happily doubled the lead: 2-0.

First goal against

After half an hour of play, Ajax had to take a penalty. Naomi Piqué cashed in on the opportunity on behalf of the Rotterdam team. Piqué’s goal meant the first goal this season in the Eredivisie for Suzanne Bakker’s team. In the second half, Nikita Tromp decided the game. With the outside of her foot she tapped the ball under keeper Pothof van Excelsior. The 3-1 lead was not jeopardized after this.

Telstar received sc Heerenveen in Velsen-South. Telstar, which only managed to score one goal this season, also had a hard time against the Frisian opponent. After thirteen minutes Merel Bormans made the first of the game. In the second half, Janneke Ennema scored twice and Jet van Beijeren was also accurate, making the final score of 0-4 on the scoreboard.

Due to the defeat, Telstar remains at the bottom of the Eredivisie. The team of coach Marelle Worm has not yet managed to grab points, but it has played one game less. Ajax is joint leader. The team from Amsterdam is on top with reigning national champion FC Twente with twelve points from four matches.

VV Alkmaar did not play this weekend.
