The Eredivisie has yet to start, but Ajax Women have already started the season unhappily. At the symbolic kick-off of the new season, the captains of all Eredivisie teams had their picture taken with the bowl, but Ajax was missing. More than three quarters of an hour later the Ajax delegation showed up, so that captain Sherida Spitse is later Photoshopped into it.
The women of Ajax were missing from the team photo this afternoon. Because of a lunch and meeting, the Amsterdammers arrived 45 minutes late in the Zeisterbossen. Spitse then went into the photo alone and will later be digitally incorporated into the photo.
The Ajax women’s team has started the season unhappily. Yesterday they lost the battle for the Supercup with 3-2 against FC Twente. As a result, the first prize of the season went to the team from Enschede. “It was not the best game from either side. We have to learn to get more control over a game,” says Sherida Spitse. “We have now analyzed everything and we know what needs to be improved.” Spitse thinks that her team can back up during the season, but does not want to express a goal yet.
