An Ajax supporter was stabbed in Naples last night. He has been to the hospital for treatment and is doing well under the circumstances, a spokesperson for the Amsterdam club reports AT5.
According to Ajax, the stabbing happened shortly after arrival and right in front of the hotel where the supporter is staying. The club does not know whether the supporter was recognizable as a fan at that time. The victim is expected to be able to attend Wednesday’s game against Napoli in the Champions League.
Ajax sold 2200 tickets for the game in Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Ajax supporters were previously warned by the Amsterdam club for their safety. They are strongly advised not to walk the street recognizable as a fan.
