Mohamed Ihattaren will wear the Ajax shirt for the coming year. The former PSV player is rented from Juventus for twelve months. A purchase option for two million euros has been agreed.
ihattaren played for PSV for years, but could no longer get through a door with trainer Roger Schmidt. The midfielder was sold to Juventus last summer and immediately loaned to Sampdoria, where he barely played. In interviews Ihattaren let it be known that he had been very badly looked after at that club and in the end he did not show up there. He hasn’t played a game in six months.
Ajax coach Erik ten Hag has often said that he is very charmed by the 19-year-old attacker and has already had a conversation with him. “Ihattaren is considered one of the greatest talents of our country”, says football affairs director Marc Overmars. “Only due to circumstances he hasn’t played any games for a long time.”
“With us, he will continue to work on his fitness at Jong Ajax. There he can then show that he is still the good player we know. I am very curious. We offer him this opportunity and we are going to help him, but the Of course it starts with himself and he knows that,” concludes Overmars.
